With deadlines for retrofit compliance in effect, the General Contractors Association of NY hosted industry seminar on October 18^th in White Plains, New York, for contractors regulated by New York State, New York City and surrounding counties for emission control requirements for diesel engines. Well over 100 attendees representing the independent construction companies serving State and City contracts heard panel members from the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, the NYC Department of Environmental Protection, the Metropolitan Transit Authority and the Westchester Department of Health cover the effective dates of enforcement, the affected equipment and vehicles, the reporting requirements and the consequences of non-compliance.
