She is an internationally recognized leader in sustainable design and environmentally sound building practices. Her portfolio consists of more than 60 LEED projects, including prominent projects such as the LEED Platinum Hidden Oaks Nature Center and the Bachelor Enlisted Quarters at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center - one of the first LEED certified buildings in the country. Her career has spanned over 20 years, through which she has remained at the forefront of the evolution of the green movement facilitating the integration of sustainability into the built environment. Vitt Sale also has contributed to the development of policy that has resulted in more sustainable building solutions. Lois has participated in the development of policies to reduce the negative impacts of the built environment on the health of people and our natural resources.
