FAIRFAX, Va. & LONDON--()--Invincea, Inc., the innovator in application virtualization for threat protection, today announced that it has been selected as a finalist in the prestigious Global Security Challenge (GSC). Invincea was chosen after undergoing a rigorous selection process which included convincing a panel of security and technology experts that its flagship solution – Invincea™ Browser Protection – could solve one of the world’s most pressing cyber-security concerns facing enterprises and governments today. Invincea Browser Protection addresses the scourge of zero-day, web-borne malware threats from email, web and social media sites. The solution offers a unique ability to protect networks against all types of web-borne threats by moving the web browser into a controlled virtual environment that automatically detects and terminates threats in real time, disposes the tainted environment, and then restarts a pristine one.
“Being one of the few companies chosen, further validates the strength of our solution and the need for it across the world’s private and public sectors.”
“With the Global Security Challenge, we are able to identify the start-up companies that offer world-class solutions to problems and help the very best ones get their products into use. Invincea is seen as a pioneer in the area of cyber-security and now stands amongst a very select group of companies world-wide. Their selection as a finalist alone is indicative of their innovation and we are happy to bring additional light to their solution,” said Richard Wilson, director of the Global Security Challenge.
Invincea joins a group of 13 of the world’s most promising security start-up companies later this week at the GSC Grand Summit in London for a head-to-head competition in which $500,000 (£326,000) worth of awards will be granted to help further develop the business. GSC is an annual business competition for security innovators and researchers. Now in its fifth year, the challenge is a catalyst for bringing some of world’s best security companies to the attention of investors and customers. Previous contenders have gone on to raise over $80 million in investments as a result of the challenge.
