Humedica Expands Clinical Measurement and Reporting Capabilities

Additions Will Help Healthcare Organizations Identify Addressable Opportunities for Improved Clinical and Financial Performance

BOSTON--()--Humedica, a next-generation clinical informatics company, today announced the launch of new disease modules for inpatient and ambulatory care providers. Humedica MinedStream™, the company’s real-time core measure surveillance tool used by hospitals, now includes pneumonia and heart failure. Humedica MinedShare™ Ambulatory platform adds critically important cardiovascular diseases congestive heart failure (CHF), dyslipidemia, and hypertension.

“As healthcare organizations drive to become Accountable Care Organizations, better management of patients with chronic cardiovascular diseases has emerged as a large and addressable opportunity,” said A.G. Breitenstein, JD, MPH, vice president and general manager of Provider Markets at Humedica. “Research shows that as much as fifty percent of the costs associated with treating CHF patients can be prevented. The new modules help organizations identify and quantify addressable opportunities within their cardiovascular patient population generally, as well as discover the specific patients who may be in need of better care management.”

“Humedica incorporates state-of-the art analytic models, data visualization, and sophisticated clinical insight into the disease models at the core of our solutions,” said Paul Bleicher, MD, PhD, Chief Medical Officer. He continued, “Our physician groups and hospitals depend on the high quality data extraction techniques and rigorous analytics that we provide, which allows them to confidently use our solutions to make the mission-critical decisions that today's healthcare environment demands.”

“Humedica MinedStream assists hospital staff in identifying heart failure and pneumonia patients in need of services based on core measure clinical guidelines,” Breitenstein continued. “Using the real-time surveillance capabilities and the predictive analytics in the application, hospitals can intervene in time to improve clinical outcomes. With hospitals under increasing scrutiny from consumers, payors and regulators, core measure results are vital to their success.”
