BOSTON--()--CustomMade, the world’s largest online marketplace for custom services, today announced a series of strategic partnerships with Dornob, one of the most popular design blogs in the world, as well as Scripps Networks’ HGTV.com and DIYNetwork.com, leading home and how-to websites. The partnerships will offer the artisan community the ability to gain online exposure for their work not otherwise available through these media outlets. CustomMade continues to offer artisans a way to successfully market themselves via its successful marketing-as-a-service platform.
“As a publisher in the area of unique home, interior and furniture design, the number one reader question posed to Dornob is: where can I get something like that?”
“Never before has a company ‘gone to bat’ for individual artisans and how they experience content distribution online,” says VP, Corporate Development, Matthew Goldstein. “We feel that our community has some of the most qualitatively unique content on the Internet and it is about time other media outlets see the benefit of offering their consumers access to that content.”
As part of the deal with Scripps, CustomMade artisans and their projects will, for the first time ever, be featured in the HGTV.com and DIYNetwork.com online marketplaces. As part of the Dornob partnership, CustomMade will establish a CustomMade Gallery within the website which will contain featured artisans and the ability for the consumer to find and purchase the design ideas that they see.
“As a publisher in the area of unique home, interior and furniture design, the number one reader question posed to Dornob is: where can I get something like that?” says Dornob Publisher, Kurt Kohlstedt. “Unfortunately, many of the innovative pieces featured on the site are not for sale; this is where CustomMade fits in offering hundreds of design- and craft-savvy folks who can work with you to make something similar to what you saw on Dornob, only better tailored to suit your individual needs. In essence, Dornob provides the inspiration while CustomMade provides the realization.”
Consumers visiting the CustomMade site now have additional opportunities to interact with artisans through a new Design It feature. The feature allows consumers to fill out a quick questionnaire, speak with CustomMade’s interior designer, and be matched with an artisan who can build the product they envision. Since launching just a couple months ago, the Design It feature has already helped over 250 consumers find artisans.
