Samsung Mobile Promoting Enhanced Support, Innovation and Services to Include Android Devices for Enterprise Market

Samsung Mobile Extends Enterprise Support and Broad Application Development Partner Ecosystem to Android Device Portfolio, Including Galaxy S™ Smart Phones and Galaxy Tab™

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung Mobile), the No. 1 mobile phone provider in the United States1, is expanding its plans to drive growth in the enterprise mobility market, adding its Galaxy family of mobile devices, including the Galaxy S smart phone portfolio and new Galaxy Tab mobile tablet. All of these powerful and innovative devices operate on the Android™ operating system.

Samsung Mobile is working with its carrier partners along with third party developers and software companies to deliver value-added services that enterprise customers desire, including interactive educational tools, IT support services, medical & drug reference resources, mobile application platforms and mobile device management and security.

These exciting and powerful solutions will be available for demonstration on the Samsung Galaxy Tab at CTIA Enterprise and Applications 2010 at the Samsung Mobile booth -- No. 717. The demonstrations will include the following companies and services:

Blackboard Mobile ™ Learn: Blackboard MobileTM Learn apps recreate and enrich the course experience of Blackboard LearnTM, the leading online teaching and learning platform used by thousands of institutions worldwide, in native applications designed specifically for each mobile platform. With the apps, millions of students can check grades and assignments, add discussion board comments and blog posts, email their classmates and instructors, and more – all directly on their smartphones or mobile devices. The apps leverage the unique user experience of each platform, offering students an immersive and engaging way to access their course work and interactive learning opportunities. Citrix Receiver™: Citrix Receiver™, a free software client that makes it easy to access existing business applications, desktops and documents on any device, now runs on Samsung Galaxy S™ portfolio of smartphones and Samsung Galaxy Tab™ lineup of mobile tablets. Epocrates Rx®: Epocrates’ drug reference solution is the most used medical application for mobile devices and is now the first to be available for the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
