Ecology: A New Face in Metro Detroit for Organic Cosmetics and Natural Skincare Products

BIRMINGHAM, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ecology, a new specialty store carrying exclusive organic cosmetics, opens in Birmingham. The store, located at 239 S. Old Woodward, will also offer all-natural skincare lines for men and women, scented candles and bath products.

Ecology is the only all-natural and organic cosmetics and skincare store in Metro Detroit. Sisters-in-law and co-owners, Marla Shapiro and Carra Stoller, extensively researched products from around the world to carefully select the lines they carry at Ecology.

Several of the store’s product lines, such as NVEY Eco, a premier, organic artistry make-up line, 100% Pure, Dirt candles and Grapeseed Company, are exclusive to the store.

“More and more women are taking control of their health and lifestyle choices, which means they are reading labels on their personal care products like never before,” said Shapiro, co-owner of Ecology. “At Ecology, we want our customers to try our unique merchandise as well as educate them about the benefits of choosing organic and chemical-free ingredients.”

All of Ecology’s products are organic and natural without dangerous chemicals such as parabens and sulfates found in most cosmetic lines. A full-time makeup artist will be onsite to demonstrate and apply cosmetics. Ecology also plans to host private events and fundraisers and hopes to educate as well as beautify its clientele.

“There are so many harmful toxins in traditional skin care products and they are directly absorbed into our blood streams, which can result in potential long-term effects,” said Stoller, co-owner of Ecology. “We want women to feel confident using cosmetics without sacrificing their safety, beauty or budget.”
