WEST POINT, N.Y.--()--The 1,310 cadets of the incoming Plebe class of the United States Military Academy at West Point are being provided with Dell laptops, flat panel monitors and other accessories.
“Providing our nation’s military and educational institutions innovative and progressive technology solutions is a privilege. We are honored to support today’s West Point Cadets and tomorrow’s leaders.”
Following a competitive bidding process, West Point’s Class of 2014 represents the 10th consecutive class Dell was selected to support through the delivery of quality education through technology. Each member of this class will receive a Dell Latitude E6410 laptop and a Dell E2210H 22” flat panel monitor.
Given their unique training requirements, cadets will be able to use the laptops not only to augment their classroom training but also their military training by providing access to imagery, training manuals, and other military training tools using the Latitude E6410. This laptop is also designed to protect critical data, allowing it to be used for years by the cadets in environments where durability is important.
West Point has issued each incoming cadet a Dell computer since 2001. Today, cadets continue to be equipped with the latest personal computing technology that sees them through their four years at the Academy.
The issued laptops also enable collaboration between cadets outside of the classroom with some of the latest in secure wireless options, superb portability, improved performance and the addition of light-sensitive webcams enabling video conferencing.
Cadets are also allowed a more comfortable and effective study environment with the E2210H 22” flat panel monitor, an upgrade from the 19” version issued to the previous class, a docking station as well as a Lexmark E260D laser printer.
In addition to personal computers, Dell provides West Point with storage solutions, printers and accessories.
