The firm, located near Boston, has been selected for specific market research, branding and communications consulting assignments with the University of Texas at Austin, the University of San Francisco, Bentley University, and the University of Missouri’s College of Agricultural Life Sciences.
Carnegie recently announced that it had become part of Alloy Education, the division of Alloy Media + Marketing providing publishing, direct marketing, digital and interactive web services to colleges and universities. The acquisition enables Alloy Education to provide a complete range of marketing, media, research and communications solutions to its clients.

The firm also announced the addition of two new professional staff members to its research team, and a new associate on the communications team. Marissa Dolan was named Market Research Supervisor. She recently received her MS in Survey Research from the University of Connecticut and is a graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, CT. Rebecca Pilloni was appointed Research Associate. She graduated from Bentley with a BS in Market Research. Catherine Seraphin is Carnegie’s new Public Relations Associate. She recently graduated from Penn State University with a BA in Print Journalism and minors in English and Business.
As part of its overall growth, Alloy Education announced two prominent additions to its senior staff:
Martha (Marty) O’Connell, Executive Director of the nationally-acclaimed “Colleges That Change Lives” program, joins the firm as a senior consultant. She served in college admissions for twenty-eight years, most recently as vice president for enrollment and dean of admission at McDaniel College (Westminster, Md.). O’Connell has counseled thousands of students about college choice and is a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars on the college search process.
Melissa Rekos has been named the Vice President of Digital Services. Melissa is a co-founder of the original teen.com website. Launched in 1997, she was instrumental to the growing success of the business and the evolution of the website in the teen market. Rekos was responsible for all editorial content, digital creative content, and campaign integration for the site's advertising clients. Additionally, she was involved in the marketing and branding of the site to potential clients and the teen audience. In 2000, teen.com was named a Top Teen Website by Teen People magazine. Teen.com was sold to Youthstream in 2001 and was later acquired by Alloy Media + Marketing. Melissa's more recent endeavors include managing her own business, which provided interactive and functional solutions for small businesses.
