NEW YORK--()--The New York Times is celebrating New York Fashion Week with a wide array of editorial and digital offerings designed to bring readers into all elements of the shows. The Fashion section online (http://www.nytimes.com/fashion) serves as a launching point for readers to find all that The Times is offering.
The Times will feature photos from more than 125 New York runway shows – up from 38 shows last season – in a slideshow player in the online Fashion section, and a calendar of fashion shows will keep readers apprised of upcoming shows.
T Magazine online (www.nytimes.com/tmagazine) features a preview of items from designer Prabal Gurung’s 2011 collection, one of the first times a designer has allowed a magazine to show pieces from a collection before it hits the runway. Additional T online coverage includes a slideshow highlighting Mr. Gurung’s past and current collections and an exclusive video interview.
Readers are invited to enter the T Magazine/Prabal Gurung “First Look” Challenge (http://tmagazine.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/09/09/prabal-gurung-first-look-challenge/) in conjunction with Polyvore.com. Using tools from Polyvore, they can create fashion ensembles using items from Mr. Gurung’s previous and current collections. Two winners will be chosen by Mr. Gurung and announced on Sept. 14; each winner will receive a ticket to his next New York show in February 2011 and a tour of his New York City studio. The winning looks will also be showcased on NYTimes.com/TMagazine and on T’s Facebook page.
New online features this season include:
From The New York Times Fashion & Style section:
- Fast Fashion, a new series of posts from On the Runway in which Eric Wilson shares his first impressions of the latest runway shows;
- A roundtable discussion with six up-and-coming designers by reporter Eric Wilson;
