US Airways Realigns Leadership Team to Strengthen Operational Momentum

TEMPE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Building on its industry-leading operational performance, US Airways (NYSE: LCC) today announced a realignment of its operations leadership team to strengthen its planning, analysis and technology expertise. The three executive promotions were approved by the Company’s Board of Directors.

Kerry Hester, 40, previously vice president, reservations and customer service planning has been promoted to senior vice president, operations planning and support. In her new role, Hester will take on responsibility for operations planning and analysis and share oversight of the crew resources function, while continuing to maintain oversight of reservations and the strategy, planning and service recovery functions within customer service. She will continue to report to US Airways Chief Operating Officer Robert Isom.

Tim Lindemann, 44, formerly managing director, customer strategy and planning has been promoted to vice president, reservations and customer planning. Lindemann will assume responsibility for the reservations organization, including the reservations planning and network operations functions, as well as the policies and procedures and training functions for both the call centers and airports. He will continue to report to Hester.

Bob Maloney, 57, formerly managing director, operations control center (OCC), has been promoted to vice president, operations control center and air traffic control. He will continue to oversee the airline’s Pittsburgh-based OCC which manages system-wide day-to-day departure, in-flight and arrival logistics. Maloney, a 36-year airline industry veteran, will also gain responsibility for the airline’s air traffic control and airfield operations groups. Maloney will report to Captain Ed Bular, senior vice president, flight operations and inflight.

Kerry Hester - Senior Vice President, Operations Planning and Support

Since joining US Airways in 2007 from Northwest Airlines, Hester has driven business initiatives to improve efficiency, productivity, and core operating metrics as well as increase ancillary revenue. During her tenure at Northwest, she held a variety of management positions with responsibility for functions including revenue management, customer service, employee engagement and network planning. Prior to Northwest, Hester was a consultant at Andersen and started her career at Aeroquip.

Hester graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Arts in economics and she received her Master of Business Administration from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.

Tim Lindemann – Vice President, Reservations and Customer Planning

Lindemann began his career with America West Airlines in 1991 as a customer service agent. During his two decades with America West and US Airways, he has held numerous leadership positions in revenue management, e-commerce, operations planning and customer strategy. Most recently as managing director, Lindemann led several key initiatives to implement technology, increase ancillary revenues, drive improvements to core operating metrics, and deliver significant cost savings, with a primary focus on airport operations.

Lindemann earned his Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Wisconsin and his Master of Business Administration, with a concentration in economics, from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.

Bob Maloney - Vice President, Operations Control Center and Air Traffic Control

Maloney has worked in the commercial aviation industry for nearly four decades. He began his aviation career with Trans World Airlines in 1974 as a customer service agent at New York’s LaGuardia Airport. In 2000, he joined US Airways as director, operations control and planning and was promoted to managing director, operations control center in 2002. Maloney has played an important role in US Airways’ operational turnaround over the past three years and led the post-merger integration of the US Airways and America West operations control centers.

Maloney attended Iona College in New Rochelle, NY.
