Mobile Phone Payments System to Work with VeriFone Solutions

REXBURG, Idaho--(BUSINESS WIRE)--RFinity today announced a point of sale (POS) capability to support both RFinity mobile payment and traditional credit card transactions using VeriFone’s PAYware Connect Gateway and VeriFone’s VX line of payment solutions.

RFinity’s mobile phone payment is already a proven secure option that offers consumers extraordinary simplicity and convenience. But merchants require a POS terminal that will accept both traditional credit card and RFinity mobile phone payments, something that has not existed for small merchants in the past.

VeriFone will certify the RFinity application for use on the VX platform. RFinity will pilot the system at Brigham Young University-Idaho (BYU-I), where students and faculty can use the technology on campus and with local merchants.

RFinity has already successfully conducted a pilot program using the VeriFone MX 800 Series at Brigham Young University-Idaho (BYU-I), where students and employees continue to use the technology for purchases and has expanded to include residents, local merchants and a community bank as well.

RFinity technology works by attaching a unique, one-time-use encrypted code to each transaction, activated by consumers tapping their phone and entering a personal authorization code. In the case of theft or phone loss, personal information is protected and the RFinity technology may be deactivated remotely. This technology thwarts criminals from intercepting and using this information to make illegal purchases.
