Aura Receives Approximately $780,000 in New Release for U.S. Coast Guard Medium Response Boat Fleet (RB-M) Production

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--()--Aura Systems Inc. (OTCBB: AUSI) announced today that it received the next release under the U.S.C.G. multiyear contract which was awarded in 2006 to Marinette Marine Corporation (MMC). Aura’s AuraGen/VIPER power solution is the power system used on the RB-M.

“Aura is very pleased to be the supplier of the electrical power for each and every one of the U.S.C.G. medium response boats. The U.S.C.G. production level increased from 2 systems per month for the last 12 months to 3 systems per month for the next 13 months.”

This next 39 boat release is scheduled to be delivered over 13 months and is part of a multi-year, Coast Guard contract requiring the delivery of up to 250 RB-M patrol boats at a total contract value to Aura of up to $5.0 million. To date, under the Coast Guard schedule, Aura delivered 42 systems.

Each VIPER system consists of a Dual VIPER configuration and provides all of the AC and DC power as well as replaces the alternator. The VIPER system supplies 16,000 watts of continuous power/18,000 watts of peak power at engine idle. Unlike generator sets, the AuraGen takes no deck space and provides fuel savings due to increased efficiency and its load following capability.

Mr. Melvin Gagerman, Aura's CEO, said, "Aura is very pleased to be the supplier of the electrical power for each and every one of the U.S.C.G. medium response boats. The U.S.C.G. production level increased from 2 systems per month for the last 12 months to 3 systems per month for the next 13 months.”

The AuraGen VIPER has been supporting our troops in both Afghanistan and Iraq since shortly after 9/11. The VIPER is also in use by the Army of the Republic of Korea. In the civilian sector, the VIPER technology provides a green solution for mobile power that is known for fuel savings as well as reduced emissions.
