SOFIA, Bulgaria & WALTHAM, Mass.--()--Telerik, a leading vendor of development tools and user interface components for .NET, today revealed that its RadControls for Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) has enabled the successful development and launch of the Australian Tropical Sciences and Innovation Precinct’s (ATSIP) new Interpretive Centre designed and built by Schneider Electric Buildings of Australia. A key element in the joint scientific partnership between Australia's national science agency, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and James Cook University (JCU), the Centre opened to the public in June 2010.
“The Telerik component range is continually being updated and each update and enhancement was delivered directly into our project architecture, which streamlined our processes”
“Within the first few months of using RadControls for development, we realized our decision to go with Telerik was definitely the right one,” said Schneider Electric Buildings Australia Technology Consultant, Rav Panchalingam. “Our designer was able to easily style the Telerik RadChart and RadGauge components to suit the precise needs of our solution, adding value to the overall application design. We saved more than 160 hours of development time by using RadControls; it was as if I had another team working on the project for free.”
The Interpretive Centre offers staff, visiting academics, and the general public a richly interactive, transparent window into work taking place at the $14 million ATSIP sustainability and natural resource management research hub. The Centre provides real-time insight into energy and water consumption, as well as access to information about ATSIP, CSIRO, and JSU including ongoing research, project history, weather data, and carbon footprint statistics. A sleek touchscreen-based UI streamlines navigation through each Centre module and its associated data.
The primary toolset used in the Centre’s development, RadControls for WPF is the most complete commercial toolset for building next-generation WPF-based Line of Business and kiosk applications. Its advanced feature set and robust functionality aided the Schneider development team in quickly customizing a solution for ATSIP, bringing the project in on time and within budget.
“The Telerik component range is continually being updated and each update and enhancement was delivered directly into our project architecture, which streamlined our processes,” said Panchalingam. “We will definitely be using Telerik for all of our future projects – and there are a lot to come.”
Telerik RadControls for WPF delivers high-performance, customizable, and immersive end user experiences. The integrated suite incorporates advanced visualization capabilities enabling the swift transformation of data into lavish, dynamic visuals backed by exceptional functionality. RadControls jumpstarts the development process with its integrated theme support, Visual Studio 2010 and Microsoft Expression Blend compatibility, and code reuse functionality with RadControls for Silverlight. RadControls also saves developers time, money, and effort by delivering updates directly to ongoing project architectures.
