IHS Acquires Chemical and Energy Products from Access Intelligence LLC

ENGLEWOOD, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS), a leading global source of critical information and insight, today announced it has acquired assets from the chemical and energy portfolio of Access Intelligence LLC, a leading business-to-business information company owned by private equity investment firm Veronis Suhler Stevenson. These interconnected chemical and energy assets will extend the breadth of information available for current IHS energy customers and support the development of additional products and services for a broad range of industries along the supply chain.

“These complimentary and primarily subscription-based assets consist of globally respected, leading brands that form a core portfolio of research, analysis, information and intelligence for the growing chemical and energy markets,” said IHS Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jerre Stead. “This acquisition will help IHS leverage its extensive energy and economic analysis assets within the chemical industry and become a key building block for establishing IHS as a leading chemical industry information provider.”

The acquired assets from Access Intelligence’s chemical and energy portfolio are built around three main lines of business: subscription advisory services and reports, news analysis and information, and to a lesser extent events and consulting. Key products and services in the portfolio include:

Chemical Week – e-subscription business and market-leading source for news and analysis of the chemical, petrochemical and specialty chemical markets
Conferences & Events – executive conferences, seminars and roundtable events in the leading countries in the chemical business
Harriman Chemsult – market information and price discovery service for the chlor-alkali and vinyl chain sectors of the chemical industry
The Energy Daily – acknowledged leader in deep daily news and analysis, with comprehensive coverage of business, government and regulatory agencies, and trends.
