LONDON--()--Harrods has today announced that it has acquired the services of Apani Networks and its EpiForce security solution, as part of its programme to ensure compliance with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS).
“We are delighted to be working with Harrods as part of their future compliance programme”
The agreement is a three year contract which will be implemented across their Knightsbridge store and airport outlets, as part of Harrods’ commitment to providing the most up-to-date protection for customers’ credit-card data.
PCI-DSS is a set of comprehensive requirements for enhancing payment data security. Developed by the founding payment brand names of the PCI Security Council, including Visa Inc., MasterCard Worldwide, American Express and JCB International, the PCI-DSS standard is intended to help organisations proactively protect customer account data.
EpiForce, Apani’s flagship software product, allows an organisation to protect data and network communications by isolating end users, servers, clients and mission critical data into security zones, for networks with physical or virtual systems, regardless of platform or physical location. In addition, EpiForce enables the automatic encryption and decryption of data in motion. It can be installed, deployed and configured on top of existing networks without requiring changes to the network infrastructure.
“We are delighted to be working with Harrods as part of their future compliance programme,” said Allen Wise, Managing Director of Apani Europe. “As one of the world’s most instantly recognised brand names, Harrods places great importance on the value of protecting their customers and confidential data. Our software-only approach to segmentation and encryption provides an additional layer to enhance their existing systems.”
