WILMINGTON, Del.--()--Yesterday marked the Casino at Delaware Park’s largest Bad Beat Jackpot payout when Anthony Burchett from Blackbird, Delaware lost a hand of Texas Hold’em with four eights. Mr. Burchett was awarded $41,100 and the second player, who won the hand with four Jacks, walked away with $22,850. The nearly 100 lucky patrons playing Texas Hold’em in Delaware Park’s Poker Room at the time were also each paid $283.

According to the rules of the Mega Bad Beat Jackpot, four of a kind must lose to a superior hand. 45% of the jackpot is awarded to the losing player in the hand, 25% is given to the winning player, and the remaining 30% is divided equally among the other players dealt to in the Poker Room when the Mega Bad Beat occurred. This is Delaware Park’s first Mega Bad Beat awarded since its live table games officially opened on June 18th. The Mega Bad Beat Jackpot is reset to $50,000 and continues to grow.

Tournaments currently offered include 24/7 Sit & Go’s; Monday-Friday 11 a.m. No-Limit Hold’em Tournaments ($65 Buy-in); and Saturday/Sunday noon No-Limit Hold’em Tournaments ($150 Buy-in).
In response to player demand for tournament play, a 25-table Tournament Room is currently under construction and slated to open September 30th.
