EAGAN, Minn.--()--Phil Vassar, an award-winning country music singer/songwriter and one of Nashville’s most prolific and versatile stars, will headline the seventh annual Septemberfest music festival in Eagan on Saturday, Sept. 18. Rocket Club and 6 Wheel Drive will open for Vassar, whose resume boasts six number one hits for country artists including Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw, Jo Dee Messina, and Collin Raye, plus three hits as an artist in his own right.
Septemberfest is planned and managed by Faithful Shepherd Catholic School and takes place on the school’s grounds, located at 3355 Columbia Drive in Eagan -- just east of the Yankee Doodle Road and Lexington Avenue intersection. Performances take place rain or shine in a concert pavilion, which combines the benefits of an open-air music festival with shelter from potential cool fall weather or rain.
Tickets for the Septemberfest Phil Vassar concert are $20 in advance through Sunday, Sept. 12; $25 after that and at the gate. Advance tickets can be purchased online at www.septemberfestrocks.com, or after Sept. 11-12 masses at St. John Neumann and St. Thomas Becket Catholic churches in Eagan, and the Church of St. Peter in Mendota.
The Septemberfest event gate opens at 5:30 p.m. Parking is free. Beer and other adult beverages, sodas, water, and Jake’s City Grille food selections will be available to purchase. Beverages will be discounted from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Concertgoers must be age 21 or older. No recording devices are allowed.
