Constellation NewEnergy Holds Executive Seminar to Help Erie Region Businesses Maximize Electricity Investment Value

BALTIMORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As true electric competition expands throughout Pennsylvania, Constellation NewEnergy, a subsidiary of Constellation Energy (NYSE: CEG), today announced it will host an executive seminar on competitive electricity options at the Bayfront Convention Center in Erie on Sept. 8, 2010.

“We understand that buying and managing electricity is a complex business decision”

“We understand that buying and managing electricity is a complex business decision,” said David I. Fein, a vice president and director of retail energy policy at Constellation NewEnergy. “This seminar will provide Pennsylvanians with the knowledge they need to navigate the restructured electricity market with ease.”

With rate caps in the Penelec market set to expire Dec. 31, organizations of all types,--businesses, government agencies, schools, hospitals, etc., will have the potential to maximize their electricity investments with options never before available. Through this seminar, Constellation NewEnergy will provide attendees with the tools to gain a competitive edge through more efficient energy management and risk mitigating strategies.

“Our goal is to help Pennsylvania’s commercial and public sector electricity users to maximize their energy investment when rate caps expire,” Fein said. “At the seminar, attendees will be able to interact with our industry experts and get the information they need to make the best decisions for their unique situations.”

The free seminar includes three information sessions lead by: Charles V. Fullem, director, rates and regulatory affairs, Pennsylvania FirstEnergy Services; Lisa Decoteau, vice president, portfolio management, Constellation Energy; and Ed Wilson, director, Constellation Energy. The sessions will feature a question and answer period, continental breakfast, and lunch. To register call 410-470-5130 or visit www.newenergy.com/ErieEvent.

Constellation NewEnergy began offering services last year in the PPL region and has signed a number of agreements with commercial, industrial, nonprofit and government entities, including Yuengling Brewery, Pennsylvania Foundry Association (PFA), Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (AICUP), and the Pennsylvania League of Cities and Municipalities. It has begun signing contracts with customers in the PECO, Penelec, Met-Ed and Allegheny Power service territories, where rate caps will expire on Dec. 31, 2010.
