The Volunteer Expo Returns to Pioneer Courthouse Square

Special Event Presented by the Standard Showcases More Than 100 Nonprofits in One Location

PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On Friday, September 10, 2010, The Standard’s Volunteer Expo returns to Pioneer Courthouse Square with more than 100 nonprofits in one location. The annual event provides the public and employees of The Standard unparalleled opportunities to learn about local nonprofits and discover how to make a difference in the community. Representatives from a diverse range of nonprofit organizations will be there helping attendees learn more and maybe even find the perfect match for their time, skills and interests.

With more than 100 participating nonprofits, the 2010 Expo is set to be the largest yet. In order to support growing interest from nonprofits, the community and The Standard’s 2,100 downtown employees, this special event will be open to the public and held in Portland’s Pioneer Courthouse Square.

Thanks to a partnership with New Avenues for Youth, Ben & Jerry’s PartnerShop Scoop Shop is offering a free scoop of ice cream to attendees who connect with five or more nonprofits at the Expo. Just grab a Connect Card at the event and collect stamps on it as you visit the nonprofit booths. Those who collect at least five stamps can redeem them for one free scoop Ben & Jerry’s ice cream.

The 2010 Volunteer Expo takes place Friday, September 10, 2010, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Pioneer Courthouse Square, 701 SW 6^th Avenue. The event is open to the public and free of charge.
