MINNEAPOLIS--()--Verisae, the global leader in Sustainability Resource Planning (SRP) solutions, today announced their partnership with Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management. The partnership will bring a comprehensive Demand Response (DR) product to commercial and industrial customers across the United States and beyond. The integrated offering represents a viable example of smart grid technologies in operation.
“This joint solution allows us to fully integrate end-user customers into the demand response equation, leading to increased benefits for companies seeking to manage their individual energy programs.”
“We are pleased to partner with Verisae to develop this unique demand response offering,” said James Anderson, vice president of smart grid programs at Schneider Electric. “This joint solution allows us to fully integrate end-user customers into the demand response equation, leading to increased benefits for companies seeking to manage their individual energy programs.”
Schneider Electric will serve as a complete energy management solution provider, linking together a comprehensive offering called Demand Response 2.0. DR 2.0 not only manages traditional load shedding, but also enables load shaping, which is the ability to adjust in real-time the dynamic nature of utility pricing and the resulting customer response. Under the agreement, Verisae will provide the utility and customer-facing demand response services while Schneider Electric will market and manage the offer on behalf of its utility and end-user customers.
“This is truly a game-changing technology that will have broad repercussions,” said Greg Effertz, chief operating officer for Verisae. “This dynamic pricing solution allows companies to have better control of their energy costs. It also enables utilities to innovate with new tariff structures and maximize resource generation. Our partnership allows the smart grid to become a true reality.”
By implementing DR 2.0, utilities and their larger customers create a “virtual” power plant of dispatchable load that can be used to manage high peak electricity demand periods and fill any gaps in renewable energy portfolios.
Verisae’s demand response software provides distributed organizations with a comprehensive, near real-time view of their entire energy operations, enabling participation in a variety of demand management programs.
