AUSTIN, Texas--()--Red Oxygen, one of the world’s leading SMS gateways and developers of text messaging software, announced today that Peanut Labs, a leading provider of research and monetization services for social media and gaming companies, is leveraging Red Oxygen technology to eliminate potential fraud in gaming payment processes.
“With Red Oxygen’s secure and reliable service, we can now keep our own costs in check while ensuring protection from fraud for our customers.”
Peanut Labs is well known for helping developers monetize their games through virtual currency. Another service the Company provides is a payment processing service that relieves social media and gaming companies from having to manage the vast amounts of payment formats used around the world.
“Industry experts estimate that, left unprotected, as much as 50 percent of a gaming publisher's transactions for intangible goods like virtual currency can be fraudulent, so it was critical for us to find a reliable way to eliminate this risk for our customers,” said Murtaza Hussain, President of Peanut Labs. “We have developed an efficient process for identifying possible fraud and, working with Red Oxygen, analyzing and blocking risky transactions.”
When Peanut Labs receives a payment from a customer, every transaction is run through an engine to measure risk factors, resulting in one of three actions: the payment is accepted, the payment is declined, or the transaction is flagged for review. Any flagged transaction automatically triggers a text message to be sent to the purchaser’s mobile phone, using Red Oxygen services. At that point, the user is required to input a provided pin number on the website, allowing Peanut Labs to analyze things such as user location to determine whether the transaction is legitimate. Red Oxygen SMS Gateway technology allows Peanut Labs to send these text messages to any mobile device that is text enabled, regardless of which provider the consumer uses for mobile service.
“This review process used to be completely manual which, as you can imagine, required a great deal of time and resources,” continued Hussain. “With Red Oxygen’s secure and reliable service, we can now keep our own costs in check while ensuring protection from fraud for our customers.”
“Our customers, such as Peanut Labs, leverage text messaging technology for many innovative uses beyond just mobile marketing, which is the use typically associated with SMS and business,” said Tom Sheahan. “The convenience, immediacy and efficiency of text messaging provide endless possibilities for improving business and customer service practices through enhanced communication processes.”
