Fox Mobile Group: René La Taupe Hits No. 1 on France's Digital Download Singles Chart

BERLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--René La Taupe, the affable and humorous singing mole, hit No. 1 on France’s official digital download chart (Disqueenfrance.com, SNEP) with his love song, Mignon Mignon, beating out competition from none other than Shakira and Katy Perry. After five weeks on the top-ten singles charts, Mignon Mignon has notched up to No. 1. On YouTube the song has been viewed more than 5 million times.

René La Taupe was born in the Fox Mobile Group (FMG) studios in partnership with Famties Production. The animated, loveable mole made his musical debut as a ring tone only and there was quickly demand for it to be released in May as a full track digital download. The song became wildly popular and an enormous hit. René is a favourite with everyone who hears the song for his outspoken personality. He is known for his ability to talk candidly about everyday issues in a sarcastic manner and tone to which everyone can relate. Mignon Mignon may be the first love song with the lyric “You are really cute even if you are fat”. But that’s the signature of René the mole, who is saying out loud what people may only have been thinking to themselves.
