NEW YORK--()--GeekNerdWonk Charitable Foundation with The LGBT Community Center, the Take Back Pride Campaign and Jamie McGonnigal present Broadway’s finest in William Finn's Elegies: A Song Cycle at The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center.
“GeekNerdWonk Charitable Foundation is thrilled to be a part of such a poignant, powerful, personal and political performance, which will help raise funds for the presenting charities to continue the vital civil liberty work which faces the LGBTQA community.”
According to Stephanie A. Jones, JD, LLM, MPH, Esquire, Co-Trustee with Ronnie Kroell of GeekNerdWonk Charitable Foundation, “Composer Finn’s Elegies invites each of us to honor our beloved family members; whether by birth or choice.”
Kroell notes, “In Elegies we are able to experience Finn’s honor of his personal beloveds – his late mother, Barbara Finn, and his many chosen family who have died of AIDS. Then, in the final sequences of Elegies, Finn shifts his focus from one of our personal families to our global human family, in a study on how 9/11 irreversibly, universally affected us all.”
Jones sums, “GeekNerdWonk Charitable Foundation is thrilled to be a part of such a poignant, powerful, personal and political performance, which will help raise funds for the presenting charities to continue the vital civil liberty work which faces the LGBTQA community.”
Continuing GeekNerdWonk Charitable Foundation’s LGBTQA-related civil rights work into this fall, Kroell will serve as an Honorary Committee Members for the 7th Annual Wedding March and Festival on September 26, 2010.
