DUBLIN--()--Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/540696/us_and_european_ma) has announced the addition of the "US and European Markets for Breast Implants 2009" report to their offering.
“US and European Markets for Breast Implants 2009”
The US and European markets for breast implant devices includes breast implants and tissue expanders sold in the US, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK. Through 2013, sales of breast implant devices in the US will account for the majority of revenues earned, due in part to the rapid shift in adoption from saline implants to higher-priced silicone implants, following a lifting of a 14-year ban on these devices. Impacting growth in both the US and Europe will be continued economic instability, leading to declining consumer spending and, in turn, reduced demand for elective breast augmentation procedures. Unlike elective augmentation procedures, however, reconstructive procedures which are often performed following a mastectomy are nonelective.
Growth in these latter procedures will remain minimal, albeit steady, over the forecast period, countering reduced consumer demand to some extent. Fluctuations in breast implant device sales will correlate with the decline and resurgence of the US and European economies, which weakened in 2007 as a result of the recession and will begin to improve from 2010 onward.
Report Highlights:
- Assess the impact of the global economic downturn on the US and European breast implant device markets.
- Understand how the lifting of the ban on silicone implants will lead to their rapid adoption in the US through 2013.
- Evaluate competitive dynamics in the market, including how the entrance of international competitors, as well as mergers and acquisitions, will affect overall unit sales, pricing, and revenues.
