PITTSBURGH & PHILADELPHIA--()--Citizens for Pennsylvania’s Future (PennFuture) today urged Pennsylvanians to nominate a Green Power Hero to be honored at the organization’s Green Power Awards luncheons, set for the Hilton Inn at Penn in Philadelphia on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at noon, and at the Fairmont Hotel in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at noon.
“But we need the public’s help to find the unsung heroes.”
“Our annual Green Power Awards luncheons are our way to pay tribute to the visionary individuals, institutions, organizations, and companies that are building the new energy economy and creating great green jobs,” said Jan Jarrett, PennFuture’s president and CEO. “But we need the public’s help to find the unsung heroes.
“We hope Pennsylvanians will look to their neighbors, friends and coworkers for Green Power Heroes who can win our People’s Choice Award,” said Jarrett. “It could be someone who is making clean energy, saving energy, putting new technologies to use, proselytizing about energy, or simply making it possible for all of us to change the kind of energy we use, and how we use it.”
Nominations may be made on PennFuture’s website (www.pennfuture.org); just click on the “Green Power Awards” link on the home page. The deadline for nominations is Friday, August 6, 2010.
The awards luncheons are open to the public. The cost is $35 for the general public and $30 for PennFuture members and space is limited – make reservations on the PennFuture. Companies and individuals interested in sponsoring the awards luncheons should contact Kristian Smith at 215-545-2133.
