Aetna Board of Directors Authorizes Additional Share Repurchases

HARTFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aetna Inc. (NYSE: AET) today announced that its Board of Directors has authorized the company to repurchase from time to time up to $1 billion of its common stock.

The company intends to continue buying shares in the open market from time to time. At June 30, 2010, Aetna had approximately 417 million shares outstanding.
