Kaplan Higher Education School of Nursing Launches New Online Nursing Programs

New degree and certificate programs designed to prepare nurses to work in informatics, administration and teaching within healthcare organizations

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Kaplan Higher Education School of Nursing today announced the launch of its new online Master of Science in Nursing’s Informatics specialization, as well as two new graduate certificates, Nurse Administrator Graduate Certificate and Nurse Educator Graduate Certificate all designed to prepare nurses to work in fast-growing fields.

The Master of Science in Nursing Informatics specialization is designed to prepare nurses to meet the clinical, educational, research and administrative challenges of working in a technology rich environment. The specialization incorporates information technology management literacy and system leadership competencies to advance evidence-based practice. The courses culminate with a practicum project that includes experiential learning in a health care or educational setting. The curriculum is designed to help prepare students to sit for the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Informatics Nursing certification exam.

The Nurse Administrator Graduate Certificate is designed to prepare nurses to pursue leadership positions in hospitals, community health, long-term care facilities and other health care systems. The certificate is also designed to help prepare graduates to sit for the Nursing Administration or Nursing Administration Advanced Certification examinations provided by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. The certificate is designed to prepare graduates to pursue administrative positions, such as director or assistant director, vice president or chief nursing officer.

The Nurse Educator Graduate Certificate is designed to prepare nurses to teach in a variety of settings, including nursing schools, staff development training, clinical education, and patient and community education programs. The certificate is also designed to help prepare students to take the National League of Nursing’s Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) examination. Certificate holders may pursue positions as instructors at colleges, and as staff educators in hospitals, health care centers or other health care agencies.
