WHAT: |
Texas Governor Rick Perry and City of Laredo officials will be joined by Simon Upfill-Brown, chief operating officer of Terrabon (www.terrabon.com), to announce the benefits of an innovative, new water treatment project in Laredo that will restore and purify 50,000 gallons per day of brackish water for potable use. The project will use Terrabon’s AdVE technology that was developed from research and development with the Texas Engineering Experiment Station (TEES), a member of The Texas A&M University System. AdVE is a water treatment process that removes excess impurities using advanced vapor compression evaporation to produce drinkable water.

|
Governor Perry also will be announcing an award from the Texas Emerging Technology Fund to Terrabon for its groundbreaking work in the development of biofuel and water treatment technologies such as MixAlco™ and AdVE. MixAlco™ is an advanced bio-refining technology, also developed through TEES, which converts low-cost, readily available, non-food biomass into “green gasoline.” |
