“Businesses and non-profit organizations that suffered economic losses as a result of the disaster and want to apply for low-interest loans from the SBA are urged to do so before the Aug. 24 deadline,” said Frank Skaggs, director of SBA Field Operations Center East in Atlanta.
Small businesses and non-profit organizations of all sizes in the following counties are eligible to apply: Buncombe, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Madison, Swain and Transylvania in North Carolina; Cocke and Sevier in Tennessee.
Loans are available up to $2 million for small businesses and non- profit organizations that suffered substantial economic injury from the disaster. The loans are not intended to replace lost sales or profits.
