Direct USB sync with the Galaxy S Series works in tandem with an app called DejaOffice™, which provides business-class address book, calendar, tasks and notes apps for Android devices. Data transfers two-ways between PC and DejaOffice on the Galaxy S Series device using a USB cable.
Wireless sync through Google relies on the built-in integration that the Samsung Vibrant, Fascinate, Captivate and Epic 4G has with Google Contacts and Google Calendar. CompanionLink synchronizes PC contacts, calendar and tasks to Google, which then synchronizes over-the-air to the device. Changes made on the phone will sync back to Google, and then to the PC using CompanionLink.
