SAN DIEGO--()--After some of the most tumultuous times in the nation’s economic landscape, experts in the life settlement industry echoed resounding optimism in the future of the market during Life Settlement Awareness Month (LSAM)®.
“When we started in this industry ten years ago it was new and very little attention was paid by regulators. Today, life settlements are a thriving business with a great amount of accumulated intellectual capital garnering significant consideration from financial services professionals and regulators alike.”
The fifth annual LSAM® featured six webcasts with speakers on all aspects of the industry, including regulation, legislation, investment, origination, servicing and more. Topics covered included the fundamentals and advanced strategies for the transaction, a market outlook, investment strategies, broker and provider evolutions, and the impact of life settlement allocation on overall portfolios.
“One constant theme from all of our speakers is that the life settlement industry is solid, growing and here to stay,” said Larry Simon, president, Life Settlement Solutions, Inc. “When we started in this industry ten years ago it was new and very little attention was paid by regulators. Today, life settlements are a thriving business with a great amount of accumulated intellectual capital garnering significant consideration from financial services professionals and regulators alike.”
LSAM®, presented by Life Settlement Solutions, is one of the industry’s largest educational efforts and has been held each June since 2006. It is designed to bring timely industry education to financial and insurance professionals, and qualified institutional participants of all experience levels.
All events held during June were web-based and free to attend. This year, more than 1,500 professionals attended LSAM® events, making it the best-attended LSAM® to date.
“Each event was recorded and we encourage any one in the field or interested in entering the industry to listen to the replays,” added Simon.
