WELLESLEY HILLS, Mass.--()--Apparent Networks, a leading provider of network performance and availability solutions, today announced that it has released new enhancements for PathView Cloud, its popular hosted network performance management service. Available immediately, the latest version of PathView Cloud includes new features for managed service providers, unique capabilities for voice-over-IP (VoIP) assessments, and enhancements that make PathView Cloud easier to use.
“Apparent Networks continues to deliver on its commitment to provide our partners and customers with the most cost-effective tools for ensuring optimum network performance”
“Apparent Networks continues to deliver on its commitment to provide our partners and customers with the most cost-effective tools for ensuring optimum network performance,” said Jim Melvin, president and chief marketing officer of Apparent Networks. “From simplifying complex VoIP deployments to creating new revenue streams for managed service providers, PathView Cloud offers a broad set of new features to help our users achieve their goals.”
Available as a free service or a convenient subscription service for larger deployments, PathView Cloud has proven critical for business initiatives that require consistent network performance such as VoIP, virtualization and cloud-based services. PathView Cloud enables resellers and end users to assess network readiness for these new applications by monitoring and measuring the performance of complete end-to-end network paths—including portions that traverse third-party networks. The solution also provides ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting once the applications are deployed to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
New features for Managed Service Providers
PathView Cloud’s new capabilities enable managed service providers (MSPs) to increase their revenues by delivering reliable and high quality managed services, such as premium network management and monitoring. To offer even greater customization and flexibility for MSP users, Apparent Networks has introduced the following new PathView Cloud features:
- MSP Branding—MSPs can custom-brand PathView Cloud’s user interface and reports and deliver them as a service to their customers.
- MSP Organization—New self-service multi-tenancy capabilities allow MSPs to manage all customers from a single PathView Cloud screen and perform drill-down analyses. The organizational structure allows MSPs to easily add new customers to PathView Cloud as their customer base grows.
- MSP Customer Deployment Analysis—MSPs can easily track PathView Cloud services they deliver to their customers and export reports for efficient customer billing.
New Assessment Capabilities
PathView Cloud builds upon Apparent Networks’ strong position as a provider of tools to test network performance with the addition of VoIP and data assessment capabilities. These capabilities make it simple for resellers, MSPs, corporations, and other organizations to test their network readiness for new applications and services prior to rolling them out. New features include:
- VoIP Assessments—Allow users to determine their networks’ readiness for VoIP prior to deployment. Assessments can be performed on up to 2,500 network paths at a single time to ensure overall network readiness for VoIP. This unique network insight enables organizations to confidently roll out new VoIP services and ensure their optimum ongoing performance. Graphical reports clearly show overall network readiness for VoIP and also identify potential problems.
- Expanded Data Assessment Capabilities—Enable users to assess their entire network at once to identify whether networks can handle the additional traffic of new data applications. If trouble areas are detected, PathView Cloud performs full hop-by-hop analyses across network paths to identify issues and provide remediation information.
New Usability Enhancements
Apparent Networks continues to regularly enhance the PathView Cloud user experience through a wide range of new improvements. The latest additions to PathView Cloud include:
- Support for the New PathView microAppliance—The PathView microAppliance is a zero-administration device that can be used as the source or target of PathView tests. It eliminates the need to provision computer resources for the PathView Cloud and is ideal for remote offices that may lack a suitable, always-on device.
- Windows 7 and Proxy Server Support—Users can test networks from systems running Windows 7 and monitor up to 100 megabit networks. Additionally, PathView Cloud can test networks originating behind proxy servers.
- Interactive Performance Charts—Users can investigate path performance issues quickly and easily with interactive, flex-based charts. With multiple new charting options, users specify timeframes, annotate charts, more easily understand bandwidth capacity and utilization, and gain better control over their monitoring data.
- Customized Service Quality Definitions and Intelligent Email Alerts—PathView Cloud users can fully customize performance thresholds that trigger alerts, per path, and can easily control when and how often email alerts are received for performance violations.
Pricing and Availability
The latest version of PathView Cloud is available immediately. Apparent Networks is offering a free, five-path version of PathView Cloud.
