NEW HAVEN, Conn.--()--The Association of Hole in the Wall Camps and the Hole in the Wall Foundation are pleased to announce the appointment of John Reid as their new President and CEO. John assumes the role from Ray Empson who is retiring from the organization.

John comes to the Association of Hole in the Wall Camps – the international family of camps for children with serious illnesses, founded by Paul Newman – from Childhelp, a national organization focused on the prevention and treatment of child abuse. He served as their Executive Director for 5 years. Prior to that, he was the President and CEO of FamiliesFirst in California. John has an extensive background in nonprofit leadership and brings a wealth of knowledge and international experience from executive roles at CARE, World Vision and Christian Aid. John holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Washington and he taught Leadership and Ethics at Arizona State University. “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining such an outstanding organization, especially given its inspiring mission and the incredible impact it has on children’s lives,” said John on his new position. He is moving with his wife and daughter to Connecticut from Paradise Valley, Arizona.

The Association of Hole in the Wall Camps leads the largest global family of medical-specialty camps which provide life-changing experiences to children with serious illnesses and life-threatening medical conditions.
