American Society of Home Inspectors Announces New President

Central Ohio Inspector to Lead the Respected Non-Profit Organization for Professional Home Inspectors

• David Tamny named 2010 ASHI president.
• ASHI names 2010 president-elect, vice president, treasurer and secretary.

The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) introduced David Tamny as its newest president at ASHI's annual InspectionWorld conference in Las Vegas, January 17-20, 2010.

Tamny, who owns Professional Property Inspection, a home and commercial property inspection company serving Central Ohio, joined ASHI in 1993 and became the founding president of the North Central Ohio ASHI Chapter. He served as ASHI's national president-elect from 2008-2009 and as its national treasurer for the three years prior. He has also served on various committees and task forces during his eight years on the National ASHI board of directors. Additionally, Tamny is a member of the American Institute of Architects and has performed more than 5,000 inspections throughout his career. He is a registered architect in the state of Ohio and holds a bachelor of architecture degree from Kent State University. In his role as president, Tamny will continue to support and promote ASHI’s commitment to provide the home owner/buyer with a competent and thorough evaluation of the condition of the systems and components of a home.

ASHI named several other members to officer positions in the organization. Kurt Salomon, Advocate Inspections, Midvale, Utah, will serve as president-elect; Bill Jacques, American Inspection Service, Inc., Ravenel, S.C., will become vice president; Marvin Goldstein, Building Inspection Services, Southhampton, Pa., will assume the role of treasurer; and Alden Gibson, Inspections by Gibson, Breslau, Ontario, will serve as secretary.
