IRVINE, Calif.--()--Village Green Global, Inc. today announced a joint venture with sustainable fuel company Carbon Credited Farming Plc (CCF) to create a carbon and credit trading desk (Carbon Desk) to take advantage of carbon and other offset credits generated by CCF’s sustainable oil and other Cleantech operations. The Carbon Desk will serve as a commercial fulcrum for credit market activities as well as a point of reference for enterprises to get information and advice relating to purchasing carbon and other credits. Companies will use Village Green’s SMARTweb® SaaS-based auditing tool to assess the environmental cost of their activities and determine the optimal balance of cost reductions and purchases of credits to offset these costs.
“As the green economy evolves, the global carbon credit market gains complexity and significance”
CCF focuses on the development of oil assets through sustainable agriculture. The company has created a “Conservation Standard” that creates financing for the development of further oil assets for developing nations. CCF has created an auditing baseline for standing carbon, as well as for the subsequent family of offset credits including nutrient credits, water credits, phosphates, sulphur, nitrates, eco and wildlife credits. Through these activities, CCF has considerable credits to offer to the domestic and international marketplace, which will lead to significant green job creation, and financial stimuli, as well as cumulatively assist in the reduction of Green House Gas (GHG) emissions.
Companies and governments will use SMARTWeb to determine their environmental cost of activities. By using SMARTWeb, the companies will:
1. Create a comprehensive GHG inventory for baseline understandings
2. Provide recommendations and advisory on how to reduce these costs and,
3. Balance these costs through the purchase of credits.
Through the educated use of carbon and credit trading, a framework is built that assists companies and governments in their thinking and activities which will stimulate green job creation while enhancing conservation, farming best practices and commercial activities which are all beneficial to the global ecosystems.
“As the green economy evolves, the global carbon credit market gains complexity and significance,” said Gregg Fryett, managing director of Carbon Credited Farming Plc. “The business model is changing rapidly with environmental issues coming into focus and we want to make sure that countries around the world are equipped to handle it. The Carbon Desk will not only be a marketplace for carbon credits, but it also will help developing and developed nations to determine a framework for their future environmentally focused risk and commercial activities including conservation and water.”
SMARTweb is a sophisticated program that shows enterprises, governments and individuals exactly what their environmental costs of activities are and how to reduce them. The system has been used to generate 6,000 environmental audits in order to ensure its interoperability and effectiveness. With a comprehensive dashboard of electrical usage and costs, an onsite audit, summary reporting, and detailed listing of approximately 30,000 devices, SMARTweb leads enterprises to measurable savings.
“Village Green is committed to the preservation of our natural environment and was built on this foundation,” said Doug Smith, founder and CEO of Village Green. “Our goal is to provide organizations with easy-to-use tools and services that enable energy efficiency and cost savings. The partnership with CCF promotes this goal in facilitating the creation of green jobs, so we couldn’t be more pleased and eager to get started.”
