Browser-Based Thin Client Adds Video Search, Playback and PTZ Support

INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Exacq Technologies is pleased to announce exacqVision Webserver Version 2.0 for the exacqVision video management system (VMS) software. The latest version has a similar look, feel and functionality to the exacqVision client software but is accessed via a web browser-based thin client from a computer or mobile device. The new Webserver 2.0 coincides with the latest release of the exacqVision video management system software—Version 4.0.

In addition to allowing users to view live surveillance video from multiple exacqVision servers, Webserver 2.0 also provides powerful video searching and playback along with the ability to control analog and network PTZ cameras. exacqVision Webserver 2.0 is available to exacqVision users at no extra charge and can be installed on new and existing servers. The Webserver incorporates the same user accounts created and maintained by the VMS server’s administrator. Therefore, the same users who have access to an exacqVision system via the client can instantly have access using a web browser with any computer or mobile device.

The exacqVision Webserver is ideal for viewing live or recorded video in low or restricted bandwidth situations. Since ActiveX is not required, the browser-based thin client operates on all of the leading browsers including Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Opera. Not only does this provide video surveillance access to computers with an Internet connection (regardless of the operating system), it also creates a powerful tool for popular mobile devices with web surfing functionality. The service is ideal for javascript-enabled mobile browsers (e.g. iPhones, iPod Touch and Android devices) as well as non-javascript WAP mobile browsers common with most cell phones.
