LEHI, Utah--()--In its bid to spawn the next era of client-driven applications that make the Web more powerful, Kynetx has appointed Eric Olafson, President and CEO of Tomax; Jay McCrary, Treasurer of Acxiom® Corporation; and J. Kelly Flanagan, CIO and VP of Information Technology for Brigham Young University, together with Kynetx Founders Stephen Fulling and Dr. Phil Windley to its newly formed board of directors. The board will be critical to driving Kynetx’s aggressive agenda to support the expansion of their unique development platform during 2010, company officers said.

As a company, Kynetx is working to change the future of web experiences through a cloud-based rules engine that understands and responds to user context on the desktop, mobile phone or other client-based interface points. The company’s new board is helping Kynetx drive this evolution through new applications and new revenue streams for web developers and companies such as Acxiom, Azigo, Billeo and others.

As CEO of Tomax for 20 years, Eric Olafson has an extensive background in on-demand retail solutions across the demand-driven retail continuum from strategy and planning through store execution and workforce management. He is a member of the executive committee of the Utah Technology Council (UTC) and is quoted extensively in the retail and technology industries. Olafson was named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® in 2001.
McCrary is a 10-year veteran of the global marketing services leader and has global responsibility for treasury, cash management, capital markets, investor relations, corporate insurance, corporate finance and corporate real estate. He has also served as corporate assistant treasurer and led business development for Acxiom’s Financial Services Division. Prior to Acxiom, he was vice president with Stephens, Inc., a regional investment banking firm.
J. Kelly Flanagan has been the CIO of Brigham Young University since January 2002, and has been a BYU Professor of Computer Science for 17 years. He has also served as a strategy consultant to Fortune 500 companies including Intel.
