WASHINGTON--()--International CTIA WIRELESS 2010® has introduced the Retail Zone, a dedicated area on the show floor featuring an Accessories Pavilion and Retail Resource Pavilion that will provide one-stop-shopping for vendors seeking mobile back-end solutions and buyers interested in selling mobile CE products. International CTIA WIRELESS will take place March 23-25 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Partner events will begin on Monday, March 22.
“We have seen consistent growth in the number of attendees representing the retail space at CTIA events”
With more than 20 percent of the show’s attendees coming from the retail space, the Retail Zone will feature a full range of products and services geared toward making the retail ecosystem more profitable and efficient—including mobile CE, POS solutions, product display innovations, refurbishers and re-sellers. The Accessories Pavilion will house manufacturers and distributors, and the Retail Resource Pavilion will give dealers the tools to generate new customers and increase productivity.
Retail continues to represent a growing segment of the wireless ecosystem, and CTIA attracts buyers from large retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, Costco and Wal-Mart. With more than 150 exhibitors expected in the Retail Zone, CTIA has increased its footprint on the show floor to accommodate demand from a broad range of companies including: Hownet, iQmetrix Intelligent Retail, Mizco International, Mobile Insight, OFFWIRE, Protect Cell, Symbits and ZAGG Inc. “We have seen consistent growth in the number of attendees representing the retail space at CTIA events,” said Robert Mesirow, vice president and show director for CTIA. “We established the Retail Zone to meet the business development and networking needs of this critical audience, and already we’ve had to expand this area due to high demand. We believe the growth in this sector is indicative of the continued value CTIA shows provide to buyers and sellers in the mobile space.”
Ed Legum, producer of the Retail Resource Pavilion and president of Hownet said, “In the past it’s been difficult for retailers to find a single area at a trade show that addresses all their needs. Our pavilion is a services showcase offering solutions that retailers can embrace to improve business practices. We’ll have companies on hand that will offer retailers the resources they need to be smarter and more profitable in today’s competitive marketplace.”
On Tuesday, March 23, CTIA will feature an educational session, mRetail: Mobile Gives Shopping a Boost in the Store and on the Device, that will explore the latest in-store uses of wireless and emerging opportunities for mobile-enabled extended packaging, consumer self-scanning, social networking and shopping-focused apps.
