United Airlines Names Thomas F. O’Toole Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer

CHICAGO--()--UAL Corporation, parent company of United Airlines, announced today that it has named Thomas (Tom) F. O’Toole senior vice president, chief marketing officer. In his new role, O’Toole will be responsible for developing and implementing the company’s marketing, e-commerce, contact center and merchandising strategies.

With almost 30 years of marketing experience – 20 in the hotel industry – O’Toole was most recently chief marketing officer and chief information officer for Global Hyatt Corporation where he led brand marketing, distribution, reservations and information technology for all operating companies and brands worldwide. Throughout O’Toole’s almost 14-year career at Hyatt, he served in several senior leadership roles, developing brand strategies that ultimately led to the transformation of the marketing and IT functions and creation of new customer benefits.

“With Tom’s arrival, we are further building the strength of the senior management team that is in place throughout United,” said John Tague, president – United Airlines. O’Toole will report to Jeff Foland, senior vice president – Worldwide Sales and Marketing.
