PHOENIX--()--The Boys & Girls Club of the Smoky Mountains, commonly known as the Club, recently received sizeable donations from local private businesses in Sevier County, Tenn. The Club received the donations by proving their impact in the community, using TraxSolutions from nFocus Software to aggregate data and create reports.
“The Club is a strong example of how non-profits are using metrics to augment their fundraising strategies”
The Club provides services to 1,700 youth in five different locations in the Smoky Mountains. Like many non-profit organizations, the Club has experienced growth in operations during the recession, with little increase in funding to match budgetary needs.
The Club turned to local businesses to acquire more operating capital to meet these increased needs. Generating reports to prove program effectiveness, the Club visited local businesses and demonstrated that 13% of school-aged children in Sevier County were Club members, including many children of the businesses’ employees. Over 20 businesses in Sevier County agreed to donate funds to support the Club.
“Many local businesses invested in our kids because they were able to see that we provide a safe, positive environment for youth and their families,” said Jessica Page, Area Director for the Club. “With nFocus Software, we were able to demonstrate our true impact in the community, and businesses are willing to support that. Our TraxSolutions data enables us to maintain funding for operations, to expand our services, and to continue to grow.”
“The Club is a strong example of how non-profits are using metrics to augment their fundraising strategies,” said Ananda Roberts, President of nFocus Software. “By reframing their story to include data, and demonstrating how their programs impact the everyday lives of local families, the Club was able to engage the local business community’s interest and support, empowered by data-driven results.”
