Qwest Communications International Inc. (NASDAQ: Q), $3.85, +0.20, 5.48%, provides data, Internet, video and voice services, operating in the business markets, mass markets and wholesale segments. Qwest has made gains today of over 5% on 28 million shares traded managing to close just 0.01 shy from the day’s high of $3.86, on no recent developments. Last month Qwest reported that Colorado Springs Utilities adopted a hosted call centre solution provided by Qwest allowing the organization to improve on the delivery of its key services including meter-reading, appointments, account review and service call status.

Cisco Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: CSCO), $23.92, +0.52, 2.22%, closed the day near its high of 24.00. The company saw gains of 2.22% with heavy volume of over 39 million shares, slightly higher from yesterday’s close. Cisco sells networking and communications products. The company’s two main products are switches and routers but it also touches on everything in the networking industry from security to storage to application switching. Today the company announced that the Melbourne Airport expanded its International Terminal by modernizing and digitizing its operations with Cisco business video and mobility technology. This will help make travelling as seamless as possible for the airlines and its passengers.

AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T), $27.18, +0.24, 0.89%, saw a high today of $27.25, however it closed just under a 1% gain from today’s open. AT&T operates in the communication services industry providing wireless and wireline telecommunications services and equipment. AT&T announced that it will release a new projector cell phone. The device will be able to project videos and other files stored on the phone onto walls, screens and other surfaces. Analysts estimate sales of projector phones could reach 100 million or more per year by 2015.

Petaquilla Minerals Ltd. (TSX: PTQ), $0.66, +0.08, 13.79%, is engaged in acquisition, exploration and exploration management of mineral properties. Petaquilla opened with the day’s low of 0.60 managing to close with a 13% share price increase at $0.66, near the day’s high of $0.68. Petaquilla announced that subject to approval, the company has negotiated a non-brokered private placement of 24,000,000 common shares for CAD$0.50 per share, with gross proceeds of CAD$12,000,000. The money is to go towards repayment of debt and completion and development of the Company's 100% owned Molejon gold mine in Panama.

Ecometals Limited (TSXV: EC), $0.96, +0.22, 29.73%, saw its shares surge to the day's high of $1.12 managing to close the day with a 29.73% share price gain. Ecometals announced that it is ready to commence on the diamond drilling at its Rio Zarza Gold Project in Ecuador. It will test for anomalous geophysical and geochemistry results, host lithologies and structural scenario analogous to Kinross' neighbouring gold deposit. Ecometals is an exploration company with properties in South America.
