SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--()--PracticeMax announced today it has signed contracts with and begun to provide its Direct Service Claiming (DSC) service to twelve Arizona school districts. PracticeMax DSC is a Medicaid billing and claims management solution designed for schools’ special education programs.
“PracticeMax DSC brings a new level of automation and efficiency to the task of billing for medical and related services provided in special education programs”
PracticeMax DSC includes an electronic medical record jointly developed and marketed with MediaNet Solutions, Inc., Glendale, Arizona. MediaNet is the developer of e-IEP PRO, a customizable, web-based software package that simplifies management of the special education process, including students’ individualized education programs (IEPs).

- Beaver Creek Elementary District
- Buckeye Elementary School District
- Cave Creek Unified School District

“PracticeMax DSC brings a new level of automation and efficiency to the task of billing for medical and related services provided in special education programs,” says Bill Carns, CEO at PracticeMax. “By combining our electronic medical record and professional billing service experience with MediaNet’s advanced education management software, we’re able to offer a fully-integrated solution that reduces educators’ and care givers’ paperwork burden, improves accuracy for greater reimbursement, and helps schools comply with the many rules and regulations governing medical billing and special education.”
The services provided by therapists, counselors, health aides and other professionals working in special education are reimbursable through state-administered Medicaid programs.
As an integrated solution, MediaNet’s e-IEP PRO special education management software and PracticeMax’s comprehensive, automated billing service minimizes errors and delays caused by duplicate data entry while streamlining record-keeping and enhancing financial reporting capabilities.
Earlier this year, during preliminary testing of PracticeMax DSC, the Kingman Unified School District increased reimbursement by at least 18 percent compared to its previous billing service.
PracticeMax expects to continue announcing new contracts with additional school districts throughout the 2009-2010 school year.
