Vistage Applies the Social Media Buzz to Business

CEOs Share Three Tips on How Social Media Works for Them

SAN DIEGO--()--In a recent survey by Vistage International, 55 percent of CEOs said they’re using or plan to use social media to market or publicize their business, product or service in the coming year. With that number growing every day, how can your business capitalize on the social media phenomenon? Business owners that want to do business better, faster, and smarter need to adapt and incorporate social media opportunities into their corporate strategies. Here are three tips to get you started:

#1 Check out your competition- Before beginning your own social media campaign, see what your competitors are doing and how they are doing it. Learn from their activities and adapt them to fit with your company.

#2 Listen Actively- Search for your company name on social media platforms such as Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook to see what your clients are saying about your products and services and then jump into the conversation. Be positive and let them know how you’ll improve and that their voice matters to you.

#3 Be Transparent- Approach online conversations about your product openly and engage in conversations with full-disclosure that you are the one representing the brand. Remember you are there to listen and engage, not to sell.
