First Wind to Host Groundbreaking Ceremony for Stetson Wind Expansion Project

WHAT: First Wind will host an event near Danforth (specifically at T8 R3 MBPP), Maine to celebrate the beginning of construction for the 25.5 MW expansion of its Stetson Wind project. The ceremony will bring together state and local political officials, environmental agencies and members of the local community. First Wind officials will also be on hand to discuss the economic and environmental benefits of the Stetson Wind expansion, which will consist of the construction and operation of 17 additional GE 1.5 MW wind turbines. When combined with the original Stetson Wind project, which achieved commercial operations in January 2009, the expansion will make it an 82.5 MW clean, renewable energy facility.

Traffic will be directed onto Owl Mountain Road toward the groundbreaking site near the junction of Route 169 and Owl Mountain Road.
