ST. PAUL, Minn.--()--Lawson Software (Nasdaq: LWSN) today announced that the University of Colorado Hospital signed a contract to implement multiple Lawson enterprise applications to help enhance its human resources operations and improve overall business processes. An existing Lawson customer, the hospital is adding Lawson Global Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Absence Management and Employee & Manager Self Service applications. It also added Lawson Business Intelligence and ProcessFlow Integrator to help improve the use of data and business processes throughout the organization. The contract was signed during Lawson's second quarter of fiscal 2010, which ends Nov. 30, 2009.
“A key challenge for all healthcare organizations is attracting and retaining the best employees. These new Lawson applications can help us become much more strategic about our HR functions.”
Based in Aurora, Colo., the University of Colorado Hospital is the Rocky Mountain region’s only academic medical center. The hospital and its related care facilities and clinics are consistently ranked among the top hospitals in the country by U.S. News & World Report and other rating agencies. It provides primary and specialty care through multiple facilities throughout Colorado.
Hospital administrators wanted to move to a single enterprise system to help manage a wider range of business challenges, including financial management and procurement activities as well as core human resources functions. The hospital selected the new Lawson applications, due in part to its experience with other Lawson applications as well as the company’s expertise in healthcare specifically. In particular, the hospital will look to the new Lawson applications to help improve recruiting and retention activities, which are particularly daunting business challenges for healthcare organizations today.
“We have seen meaningful value in the Lawson applications we have been using to date, and we view the additional application suites as strategic tools to help us improve some key areas of our business operations,” said Darryl Varnado, vice president of Human Resources, University of Colorado Hospital. “A key challenge for all healthcare organizations is attracting and retaining the best employees. These new Lawson applications can help us become much more strategic about our HR functions.”
“We have established a very strong relationship with the University of Colorado Hospital, and we build on that relationship in ways that will help the hospital better serve its patients and live the promise of its academic mission,” said Jim Catalino, general manager, Healthcare, for Lawson. “A healthcare organization’s most valuable asset is its workforce. Our applications can help a hospital like the University of Colorado align its workforce to meet the needs of the business, patients and others affected by the work they do.”
