SunEdison Names Jaime A. Smith Vice President of Sales, North America

BELTSVILLE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SunEdison, North America’s largest solar services provider, today named Jaime A. Smith Vice President of Sales, North America. Mr. Smith assumes responsibility for business development and account management across SunEdison initiatives in commercial, REIT, utility and public sectors.

Mr. Smith brings substantial senior leadership experience to this role, having held previous CEO and General Manager positions in privately held and public companies ranging from start-ups to large industry leaders. He combines sales, financial and operational expertise with an understanding of complex, long-term customer relationships central to the SunEdison business model.

Smith joins SunEdison from NVR, Inc. (NYSE: NVR), a top five national homebuilder where he was General Manager of Operations, responsible for developing and leading a sales and marketing organization covering more than 40 communities in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware and Pennsylvania. While at NVR he introduced Energy Star qualified homes, making NVR the first major public builder in the Washington, DC market to work with the EPA to address the growing demand for energy efficient and green construction.

Prior to his role at NVR, Smith built his expertise in managing emerging technology companies, leading a turnaround effort as CEO for iSKY, Inc. involving 700 employees across the U.S., Canada and Southeast Asia, and, before that, serving as CEO of Cepstral LLC. His public company experience includes his role as General Manager of FreeMarkets (FMKT / ARBA) where he helped build and lead the company from a successful IPO through an eight-fold increase in revenue in three years.

Mr. Smith earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science Industrial Engineering from Virginia Tech, where he chairs the Industrial Engineering Alumni Advisory Board and is a member of the Engineering Committee of 100 and the Academy of Distinguished Alumni.
