TIAA-CREF Names Teresa Hassara Head of Institutional Client Services

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TIAA-CREF today announced the appointment of Teresa Hassara as Senior Managing Director and Head of Institutional Client Services. She will lead the company’s Institutional business, which serves more than 15,000 retirement plan sponsors in the academic, research, medical and cultural fields.

Ms. Hassara joins TIAA-CREF from Fidelity Investments, where she was most recently Senior Vice President, Investment Services. In that role, she developed strategy for Fidelity’s mutual fund product offering, oversaw the integration of Fidelity Management Trust Company with that company’s investing business, led investment product management and development for Fidelity’s European operations, and oversaw a variety of management initiatives.

Ms. Hassara held a series of successively senior positions over a seventeen-year career with Fidelity. Between 1999 and 2004, she was an executive vice president of Fidelity Employer Service Company’s HR/Payroll practice, and oversaw the company’s mid-sized client business. Prior to joining Fidelity in 1992, Hassara was the director of client services at the former Bankers Trust Company. She began her career at First Pennsylvania Bank, N.A.

Ms. Hassara holds a B.A. from Vanderbilt University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
