SANTA CLARA, Calif.--()--McAfee, Inc. (NYSE:MFE) today announced the appointment of Stuart McClure as senior vice president (SVP) and general manager of its Risk and Compliance business unit. In his new role, McClure will assume overall responsibility for the Risk and Compliance product line, including sales, engineering, product management, product marketing, strategy, quality assurance and customer support.

McClure, who previously served as vice president of operations and strategy for the Risk and Compliance business unit, starts his new role effective immediately. He will report directly to Dave DeWalt, McAfee’s president and chief executive officer.
“Stuart was a natural choice, given his 22 years of technical expertise, executive leadership and industry reputation in security,” said DeWalt. “Stuart’s most recent leadership role in our Risk and Compliance Business Unit make him well poised to accelerate the business unit’s mission and success.”

Prior to McAfee, McClure held positions as executive director of security services for Kaiser Permanente. In addition, McClure served as senior vice president of global threats and research, McAfee Labs. Prior to joining McAfee via the Foundstone acquisition, McClure was founder and president and chief technology officer of Foundstone. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Colorado-Boulder and holds numerous certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Novell Engineer (CNE), and Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE). McClure is also the co-author of the best selling security book, Hacking Exposed: Network Security Secrets & Solutions.
