BATTLE BEARS™ hero gets ‘hugged to death’ in mock-violent 3D-shooter game with nearly 1 million downloads

OMAHA, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--A brave bear facing fatal hugs from attacking pink teddy bears has earned BATTLE BEARS™ top ranking on iTunes since its launch August 31st. The new game from CORALINE animator Benjamin Vu’s upstart production company SkyVu Pictures, offers adorable animation, a tongue-in-cheek theme and intense bear-on-bear action. BATTLE BEARS went to Top Ten Apps on iTunes in its first week. It remains the #1 Action/Adventure Game and #3 All Games despite stiff competition. The game, currently at 800,000 downloads, is expected to reach one million by the end of September.

The object of the new game: kill cuddly pink teddy bears before they commit “huggacide” with deadly embraces to OLIVER, an advanced robotic teddy bear with a lot of attitude. When OLIVER annihilates the hug-crazed bears, rainbow colored blood beams from their necks or splashes across the moving touch screen.
